Founder Louise Manning trained with the Inland Revenue and spent several years with them before deciding, in 1979, to join the opposition. She founded the firm in 1990. Contact Louise

David Tipple is a former partner In Grant Thornton, where he spent over 20 years providing business advice to his clients focusing on the commercial issues they faced, and, because of his training as a tax specialist, the tax opportunities that their plans presented. During his time in practice, he has been involved with many different businesses of varying sizes, from small family companies through institutional backed businesses to plcs, both AiM and the Full List. His work has included corporate reconstructions, flotations, EIS and VCT claims, EMI schemes and exit planning as well as helping businesses with survival strategies where necessary. For three years, (2006 to 2009) he was President of the Southampton and Fareham Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is still a director of the organisation. Contact David

Janice Spencer heads the accounts department. Qualifying as a Chartered accountant in 1982 she joined the firm in 1993. Contact Janice

Clare Auger has recently joined the firm's accounts department having worked in accounting practice for over eighteen years. She has a vast experience of all aspects of accounts preparation and bookkeeping, and has worked with many types of businesses of different sizes from sole-traders and partnerships through to small and medium-sized owner-managed companies. Alistair McEwan joined our accounts department in 2008 having left a large multinational firm. He is currently studying for his membership of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. Contact Alistair

Phil Buse joined the firm in 2006 and has started the long journey towards accountancy qualification. Contact Phil

Sam Aitken joined us in 2008 and has passed the exams necessary to become Sage Accredited. Previously working in industry she understands the problems of owner managed businesses for whom she looks after the book keeping. She spends a lot of her time at clients' premises and also deals with payroll matters. Contact Sam

Felicity Stotter joined us from a multi-national accounting practice in London where she managed a portfolio of high net worth individuals from the UK and overseas. She deals with all aspects of personal taxation on behalf of our clients, including compliance, enquiries by HM Revenue & Customs and some consultancy work. Felicity has a degree in law and completed the professional examinations to become a solicitor at the College of Law before deciding to pursue a career in tax. She is a qualified Member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and is currently studying towards her Chartered Tax Adviser qualification. Contact Felicity

Sharon Crook is our multi-tasking receptionist. She heads up the payroll bureau, is a qualified bookkeeper and also a mine of information on all manner of things. Contact Sharon

Laura Blake has been with Cox Manning on a part time basis since 2006. She looks after office administration, assists with all matters to do with marketing and also undertakes other jobs in the office such as watering the plants!
